It was easier for me

- A customer story with Michael Naderer from Naderer Landwirtschaft , Germany

Crops: Sugar beet

Seasons: 5 (Since 2020)

In Freising in the German state of Bavaria, Michael Naderer has a family farm together with his three brothers. They run an organic agriculture, a conventional agricultural and a horticulture. With respect to the organic agriculture, they grow 100 ha crops, including sugar beets, corn, soy, and sunflowers.

A few years ago, they started growing organic sugar beets. However, shortly after they decided to stop with the sugar beets because it was too demanding for them with manual weeding. They began looking for other solutions. Then they found FarmDroid and decided to give it a try.

Today they cultivate 15 ha sugar beets. Normally they would spend 150 hours of manual weeding per ha. With the robot that is not necessary. Since they got the robot, it has worked in the field entirely on its own. It has worked very well.

Investing in a FarmDroid was a big relief for Michael as it takes care of both seeding and weeding, and it can weed multiple times. Before FarmDroid there were many concerns with respect to seeding and weeding, but now the robot does it all, so there is nothing to worry about.
