The FarmDroid platform, scaled up.

FD60 is a field robot that seeds and mechanically weeds row crops on its own. It records the exact position of every seed with RTK GPS, then returns to those coordinates to weed. No cameras. No crop-recognition software. It runs on the same platform as the FD20, built wider for growers who need to cover more ground each season.

More than 500 FarmDroid robots already work across 26 countries. The FD60 is new. The platform under it is proven.

Built for 60 hectares

A working width of up to 6.75 metres and up to 20 rows in a single pass mean the FD60 covers more ground per pass than any FarmDroid before it.

Across a season that comes to roughly 60 hectares, against the 20 a single FD20 is built for. Both are nominal averages rather than caps.

The extra ground comes from three things together: the wider frame, a higher working speed, and power that keeps the robot working through long days.

Same fundamentals, more ground.

How it works

The FD60 is wider and faster, but it seeds, weeds and powers itself exactly the way every FarmDroid before it has.

Fits your rows

Configuration

Wheel spacing adjusts from 4.60 m up to 6.70 m, and working width goes up to 6.75 m. The FD60 is set up to fit your rows, rather than your field having to fit the robot.

Row spacing goes from 25 cm, so one machine covers onion, beet, maize and a mixed rotation rather than a single crop.

Your local partner confirms the configuration before you order, based on the beds, tramlines and crops you actually run.

The FD20 stays the right fit for smaller fields, growers who need the fine-seed system, or anyone who wants the +Spray micro-spray option. The FD60 is for operations that need more ground covered than a single FD20 can manage.

FAQ about FarmDroid FD60

See general FAQ here

What is the FarmDroid FD60?

A:

An automatic field robot that seeds and mechanically weeds row crops on its own. It uses the same RTK GPS approach with 8 mm GPS precision as the FarmDroid FD20, scaled up for around 60 hectares per crop per season. It runs on solar power with a Range Extender generator.

How is the FD60 different from the FD20?

A:

FD60 has a wider, up to 6.75 metres working width, and up to 20 rows in one pass. It is roughly three times the seasonal capacity compared to our FD20 robot. It seeds with a new version of +Seed 14 mm seeding system, and it weeds mechanically without the +Spray micro-spraying option.

Which crops are compatible with the FD60?

A:

Organic onion and beet, maize, green beans, endives, chicory, spinach all fit the FD60 very well. All crops that can be seeded with +Seed 14 mm seeding system is compatible with FD60. Contact us for your specific crop.

Can the FD60 spray?

A:

No. The FD60 weeds mechanically only. If you need to micro-spray, FD20 is a better option for you as you can choose the +Spray as an add-on.

Does FD60 still count as solar-powered?

A:

Yes. Solar charges the battery and the battery runs the robot, the same as your FD20. The FD60 adds the Range Extender, a generator, that tops up the battery when the sun can’t keep up, so a run of cloudy days doesn’t slow down a robot covering three times the ground. The Range Extender only charges the battery. It never drives the robot, and it is not the primary power source.

How do I know when to refill the Range Extender tank with fuel?

A:

You follow the battery level in the FarmDroid app and refuel the tank with petrol when it suits you, so a top-up fits your day rather than interrupting it.

How does the FD60 weed without cameras or AI?

A:

RTK GPS records exactly where each seed was placed at seeding time. The robot returns to that same coordinate to weed mechanically, so it needs no crop-recognition camera or vision system.

What is FD60’s capacity? How many hectares can it cover per day?

A:

FD60 is built for around 60 hectares per season, and up to 18 ha per day. That said, FD60 can in certain cases be used for 90-100 ha as well. For example, if you grow some crops in spring, and some in summer or autumn. Contact us to know more.

How much does an FD60 cost?

A:

It depends on how many rows you need. Configure your own robot using FarmDroid configurator, or get a quote from your local partner directly.

When can I order the FD60, and when will it arrive?

A:

Orders are open now, and delivery starts from January 2027.

Where can I see FD60 in person?

A:

FD60 will be showcased at Agromek in Denmark, on 24-27 November 2026. See other upcoming events on our Event page.

Is the FD60 or the FD20 right for my farm?

A:

It depends on field size and crop mix. The FD60 suits larger, more standardised layouts; the FD20 stays the fit for smaller fields, fine seeds, or micro-spraying with +Spray. See our comparison table above or contact us to talk yours through.

How does FarmDroid compare with other autonomous options I am evaluating?

A:

Most autonomous machines do one job. Many only weed, some only spray, and several are implements that still need a tractor, and a driver on every pass. FarmDroid is a complete robot that seeds and weeds on its own, and it weeds the exact rows it sowed. Instead of cameras that can struggle in dust, low light, or heavy weeds, it remembers every seed’s position by RTK GPS and returns to the same spot to weed. It runs solar-first, with an integrated Range Extender, so it keeps working through cloudy stretches and long working days. More than 500 FarmDroid robots have worked across 26 countries since 2018.

READY TO PUT ONE IN YOUR FIELDS?

Up to 6.75 metres and 20 rows in a single pass, around 60 hectares a season, solar power with a Range Extender, and mechanical weeding with no herbicide. Configure the robot to your rows and your local partner takes it from there.

Orders are open now and delivery starts from January 2027. If you would rather see it first, the FD60 is at Agromek in Denmark, 24 to 27 November 2026.
