The second winner of the FarmDroid Photo Competition 2026 has been selected.
The winning photo in the weeding category was submitted by our customer Hubert Spanischberger from Austria.

The competition has brought in a strong collection of photos from farmers across Europe, showing the FD20 at work in real conditions across different crops and seasons. That is exactly the spirit behind the competition: an opportunity for the FarmDroid community to share everyday moments from the field and give others a genuine look at what the robot does out there.
Why this photo stood out
The judges evaluated entries in the weeding category based on three criteria: the robot must be actively weeding, the fields must look clean and well-maintained, and the photo must be authentic – a real field during the actual season.
Hubert’s photo delivered on all three. The FD20 is clearly at work, mid-operation, doing exactly what the category asks for. The field around it tells the story just as well: clean rows, no visible weed pressure, the result of consistent, methodical passes through the crop. There is nothing staged about the image. It is the kind of photo you take when the robot is doing its job and you want to document what that actually looks like.
The combination of an active robot and a visibly clean field in one frame made it the clear choice.
Congratulations to Hubert Spanischberger for winning the weeding category.

One detail that makes this entry stand out beyond the competition itself: Hubert also shared an after photo of the same field later in the season. The crop that came up is black cumin, and the field is remarkably clean from end to end. A good reminder of what consistent mechanical weeding actually produces.
Two categories are still open: Harvest and ‘Droid Living Its Best Life’.
If you have a FarmDroid of your own, there is still time to submit your photo, win FarmDroid merchandise, and share your season with the community.
