Fully automatic farming robot

FarmDroid FD20 is a solar powered field robot that seeds and weeds. By using high precision RTK GPS, the FarmDroid FD20 marks the position of each plant at seeding and subsequently performs both inter-row and intra-row weed control.

High precision seeding
Our unique seeding system ensures high precision placement of each seed in the field. A 3D printed seed disc ensures the right amount of seeds specified by the farmer and is placed carefully in the soil down to 8mm precision. The seed unit will also detect errors - like if the container is empty, dirt in the system or if seed is not detected. The FarmDroid will them automatically notify the farmer.
Inter and intrarow weeding
The robot will mechanically remove weed in the row and in between each plants. It can also do blind weeding before the plants germinate.
Always connected
It's never been easier to see access your farming robot remotely and see the progress. It will also notify you if something unexpected happens when it is working on the field.
Co2 neutral operation
With four solar panels, the FD20 efficiently converts sunlight into power for its two batteries. These panels boast a maximum output of 1.6 kWh. Depending on weather conditions and operational demands, this energy storage facilitates 18-24 hours of continuous work. Traveling at a steady pace of 950 metres per hour and with the capability to operate for up to 24 hours daily, the FD20 covers up to 6.5 hectares in a day.

We know how hard work farming is
FarmDroid was developed with the purpose of automating weed control between the rows and in the rows close to the crop. In ecological agriculture weeding is often done through tiring and costly manual labor. The labor costs per hectare are high, the work is exhausting, and a general lack of manual labor makes it difficult for farmers to grow economically sustainable crops.
How it works
With FarmDroid FD20 sowing and weeding of crops is performed fully automatic – both between the row and in the row. Since FarmDroid sows the crops itself, it knows the exact position of every seed, and it thus knows precisely where to clean – and more importantly where not to clean! The robot is autonomous, it operates completely on its own and does not need monitoring. In case of any deviations, FarmDroid stops by itself and notifies the farmer that it has stopped. This ensures the farmer that the field work is done correctly.
